Encinar

Mexico City

This three-bedroom remodel, designed for art-loving clients, transforms the space into a scenographic experience. From the entrance, a light installation greets visitors, conceived as a work of art in itself; it projects diagonally across the floor, ceiling, and walls, creating a welcoming gesture that evokes the light entering through a slightly open door. The access hallway, with a low mezzanine ceiling, is clad in wood; on the right side, a material subtraction creates a sense of decompression.

Upon entering the living room, the ceiling height subtly increases. A marble bookshelf and wooden wall paneling create a visual transition of geometric planes between the entrance and the living area. Fixed furniture includes niches designed to display sculptures that are integrated into the space.

The artworks were strategically positioned to interact with the furniture, whose tones were carefully chosen to correspond with their colors. In this way, the space achieves a dialogue where art and design convey spatial coherence.

The design seeks to fuse materials, textures, temperatures, colors, and elegance to create a play of contrasts. Polished marble in dark, cool tones is combined with wood in light finishes. The incorporation of various textiles completes the composition, achieving a balanced visual harmony.
