The Convention Center is an annex building to the Casa Club. It responds to the growing demand from corporate groups visiting the hotel. Capacity was maximized by identifying the number of visitors attending seminars. For this reason, the space was designed independently from the club members’ areas.
The design reinterprets classic elements of the hotel, such as masonry walls and pitched roofs, using a contemporary approach combined with a steel structure. A large multipurpose hall was created, offering flexibility for groups ranging from 10 to 150 people.
Entry is through a recessed two-story volume, forming an exterior lobby covered by a cantilevered single-slope roof supported by a “V”-shaped steel frame. The entrance leads to a longitudinal rear corridor that functions as the reception. Natural light is provided through skylights that bathe the space.
The hall is designed to function as an open space or to be subdivided into up to four sections. Partitions fold and travel along a track embedded in triangular carpentry beams that follow the slope of the roof. They rest on masonry columns, which also divide the terraces.
The facilities include projection technology, touchscreens, and acoustic design that optimizes the overall experience.
