Gran Reserva
Valle de Bravo, State of Mexico
This residence was designed as a retreat that brings together three generations, creating generous social areas as well as independent spaces.
The house is articulated through volumes that weave between the existing trees. Access is through a wooden portico that descends into a courtyard, where a large tree has been preserved and becomes an integral part of the project’s aesthetic. Most of the program is located on the ground floor, which opens onto a 25-meter-long terrace facing west with views of the golf course.
Each bedroom maintains a unique relationship with the outdoors. The master bedroom connects both to the main terrace and to the garden. On the upper floor, there is a playroom and a bedroom with a loft designed for the youngest grandchildren.
The project incorporates single-pitched roofs combining wooden and steel beams, with exposed wood paneling used both inside and outside. It is characterized by the use of pigmented striated concrete and rough-cut stone, together with black aluminum window frames.
Sustainability strategies include Duovent glass, solar-powered heating, and rainwater harvesting systems, significantly reducing energy consumption and enhancing the home’s thermal comfort.
