Valle de Bravo, State of Mexico

This single-story residence in Valle de Bravo blends elements of traditional Mexican rural architecture such as solid wooden beams, stone, and adobe with contemporary furniture and an architectural program adapted to modern living.

The project is organized into two gabled volumes with clay tile roofs, set on a large plot surrounded by green areas. Both volumes are connected by a stone pathway over grass that facilitates circulation.

The main volume houses the social areas and bedrooms. The gabled wooden trusses rest on a central steel beam that runs through the length of the volume, emphasizing the sense of openness. The house is surrounded by a continuous tejabán (pergola-like roof extension) supported by wooden columns covered in climbing plants, integrating the interior with the natural surroundings.

The recinto stone flooring extends seamlessly from the interior to the exterior, creating a subtle transition between spaces that unifies the architectural language and strengthens the connection with the outdoors. The secondary volume serves as an extension of the social area—an independent terrace designed around the pool and lounge area, conceived both for hosting social gatherings and offering a space for family relaxation and leisure.
